Cottages
We have four different rooms in two cottages, all artistically decorated in African style

Cottages are newly built (2012 – 2014), all rooms are self contained, with modern toilet and hot showers. Ceiling fans in all rooms, and one cottage is air conditioned. All beds have mosquito nets and the furniture is hand made from local materials.

There is also a comfortable bedroom, and bathroom for drivers, nannys and/or guides in the staff quarter. The staff quarter is in the back of the plot, allowing full privacy for guests.
If you prefer unspoilt forest and a secluded beach, away from the major tourist resorts -
then Kaya Imani, on Msambweni beach is your best option.
Long walks on the beach, coconuts, fishermen with the catch of the day, camp fires at night and the Indian ocean as your neighbour. Kaya is the local name for sacred forest.

Local
Friendly fisherman brings guests the catch of the day. The seafood brought includes various fish like Tuna and Tafi, as well as Calamari, Octopus, Shrimps and Lobster.
Organic
Organic vegetables are grown close by, and delivered on request by Energy Africa. The Kaya Imani chef (Amos) is specialised on Swahili food, mainly grilled seafood and meat. He also makes tasty vegetarian dishes. Most of his dishes include plenty of ginger, garlic and coconut. He will also prepare European dishes on the request. Grilled fish with coconut rice and sauce is a local favourite.
Culture & Activities
Activities
Jogging, swimming and snorkelling are the most obvious local beach activities. For the more adventures kite surfing, diving and deep-sea fishing is available about 40 min drive from Msambweni, either in Diani or in Shimoni. If you prefer football, the local team “Sports Marlin” welcomes visiting players from all over the world.
Local culture
Our host community the Digo tribe from the Msambweni area is very friendly and welcoming! Kaya Imani Staff will be happy to escort guests to the villages to interact with members of the local community. Staff will also organize for local musicians dancers to come and perform at a small fee in the evenings.
About
Kaya Imani offers a unique Norwegian hospitality in tropical Africa. The property contains 4 self-contained rooms, in 2 cottages. The swimming pool and outside kitchen-bar, is located next to the open air eating areas.
Kaya Imani is secluded with lush garden on a 2-acre plot right on the beach in Msambweni, south of Diani. The cottages are only a few years old and artistically decorated with African themes.
Paintings and sculptures from leading Uganda artists Kizito decorate most rooms and there is an art studio and meditation hall on the property available for anybody inclined to develop the spirit.
Security
Msambweni is the safest part of the Kenya coast, and there have not been any bad incidents in the area. The property has a guard and watchdogs for your security.
Getting there
Kaya Imani is locaed about 40 min from airport in Ukunda, and about 2 hours from the Mombasa airport (depending on the ferry). Transfer from the airport is provided at cost by staff.
Practical information.
Although seafood and fresh fruits and vegetables may be purchased locally, other items is best bought in the major food stores in Diani or Mombasa. Upon request staff may assist in purchasing food items from the shops.
